Bra cup fitted dress

This block is for woven (non-stretch) fabrics and can be used to create:

• Dresses and tops with a bra cup style line

This block is fitted to the body’s contours (skin tight).

FIND YOUR SIZE (see image 4)

1. Select mannequin (a.k.a dummy) or fit model (i.e. person) you will fit your design on.
2. Measure bust (A), waist (B) and hip (C). Hip is 20 cm below waist.
3. Find size in the Body Measurement Chart (image 4 on the left) with the measurements closest to your bust, waist and hip measurements. If you are in between sizes, go up a size.

EASE

The block doesn't include ease. It's measurements are exactly the same as the body's measurements.

If you want ease, go up a size – this will give you 5 cm of ease.

MEASURING TIPS

• Make sure the measuring tape is parallel to the floor.
• If measuring a fit model, take the measurements against the skin (i.e. not over clothes). The measuring tape should sit firmly, but not too tight.
• Measure the bust at the fullest part of the chest and the waist at the narrowest part of the waist.

• Zip opening in left-hand side seam
• Bra cup underwire style line on front
• Second front style line from mid-shoulder through the bust
• Front dart (below underwire style line) finishing at upper hip
• Back darts at neck and vertically from shoulder blade to upper hip
• Wrist length, fitted sleeves
• High neck with 8 cm keyhole opening at centre back
